No. 13 Ohio State continued their hot streak as they won their fourth consecutive game and improved to 5-1, and they are now 2-0 in Big Ten games after destroying Rutgers, 56-17.
The Scarlet Knights were able to keep it close at the end of the first quarter as they trailed, 14-7. However, the Buckeyes took a 35-7 lead at halftime and never looked back.
The Buckeyes received stellar play from quarterback J.T. Barrett, who threw for 261 yards and three touchdowns on 19-of-31 passing while rushing for 107 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries. This marks Barrett’s third consecutive game without an interception.
Running back Ezekiel Elliott ran for 69 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.
The Ohio State defense also shined as they held Rutgers quarterback Gary Nova to zero touchdown passes with an interception, and he only threw for 192 yards.
Scarlet Knights running back Desmon Peoples ran for 83 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries, and Justin Goodwin ran for 64 yards on 11 carries.
