The Oregon Ducks are expected to return to the top five after improving to 7-1 with a 59-41 victory over Cal.

No. 6 Oregon traveled to Cal for a Friday night game, and the Ducks defeated them handily, 59-41. With this win, Oregon improved to 7-1 as Cal fell to 4-4.
The Ducks started slow in typical fashion as they trailed the Golden Bears, 14-7, in the first quarter. The Golden Bears also kept it close and trailed, 31-28, after scoring 14 unanswered points.
Oregon then scored 21 unanswered points to take a 52-28 lead, and they never looked back.
Ducks quarterback Marcus Mariota threw his first interception of the season, but he had a fantastic game as he threw for 326 yards and five touchdown passes on 18-of-30 passing.
Running back Royce Freeman rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries. The freshman now has 13 rushing touchdowns, which is just one shy of LaMichael James’ record.
For Cal, quarterback Jared Goff threw for 360 yards and two touchdowns on 32-of-52 passing. Running back Daniel Lasco ran for 85 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. Lasco also added 101 receiving yards on seven catches.
