The #7 Alabama Crimson Tide host the #21 Texas A&M Aggies in a critical matchup for two once-undefeated SEC powerhouses.
The Crimson Tide are coming off a less-than-convincing win over the Arkansas Razorbacks that was decided by only one point. That win followed a stunning loss to the Ole Miss Rebels the week before which knocked them out of the top 5 for the first time all season. QB Blake Sims has struggled making plays lately since starting the Crimson Tide 4-0, but a win over Texas A&M and outdueling the Aggies offense could get him back on track.
The Aggies are on a two-game losing streak, losing back-to-back games against Mississippi teams – first an upset loss to the Mississippi State Bulldogs on the road, then a home loss to the Ole Miss Rebels. QB Kenny Hill, once seen as a Heisman frontrunner, has committed countless turnovers in the last few games, which has resulted in the Aggies being outscored by over 30 points in that time.
The winner will still have a tough road ahead against some tough SEC opponents and will need to hope that the Rebels and the Bulldogs stumble if they want a shot at the SEC championship.
Prediction: Alabama – The Crimson Tide are at home against a reeling Aggies team. As good as the Texas A&M offense is, it just can’t match up with the Alabama defense.
