Florida International is coming off a 16-13 heartbreaking loss to UTSA, who kicked two consecutive field goals in the final two minutes to win the game.
The Golden Panthers fell to 3-4, and quarterback Alex McGough’s shaky play held his team back as he was held to 141 passing yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.
Running back Alex Gardner was held to 65 rushing yards on 27 carries, and the Golden Panthers’ overall lack of production of offense came back to haunt them at the end.
They will look to even their record with an upset win over No. 25 Marshall, who rose into the rankings after improving to 6-0.
The Thundering Herd are coming off a 49-24 victory over Middle Tennessee, and quarterback Rakeem Cato put together a great performance with 337 yards and three touchdowns with one interception on 17-of-33 passing.
Running back Devon Johnson also shined for the Thundering Herd as he ran for 134 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries.
The Thundering Herd have dominated their competition, ranking second in scoring offense and eighth in scoring defense. They should have no problem taking care of the Golden Panthers either.
Prediction: Marshall 35, Florida International 17
