The Michigan State Spartans demolished the Michigan Wolverines, 35-11, and they improved to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in Big Ten play.

No. 8 Michigan State demolished Michigan, 35-11, and they improved to 7-1 with their win. The Spartans controlled the game from start to finish, and the Wolverines fell to 3-5.
Spartans quarterback Connor Cook threw for 227 yards and a touchdown pass on 12-of-22 passing. Running back Jeremy Langford ran for 177 yards and three touchdowns on 35 carries.
Wide receiver Tony Lippett caught a 70-yard touchdown pass toward the end of the game, and he finished with three receptions for 103 yards.
The Spartans defense also put together a brilliant performance as they held Michigan to 11 points, and safety R.J. Williamson came up with a 29-yard interception that was returned for a touchdown.
For the Wolverines, quarterback Devin Gardner looked awful as he threw for 121 yards and two interceptions on 13-of-28 passing. Running back De’Veon Smith was held to 39 rushing yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.
Tight end Devin Funchess led the Wolverines in receiving with five catches for 64 yards.
