No. 23 Marshall is one of the few teams in college football that remains undefeated as they hold a 7-0 record. The Thundering Herd defeated Florida International, 45-13, last week.
Quarterback Rakeem Cato continued to play well as he threw for 219 yards and four touchdowns with one interception on 15-of-27 passing.
Cato now has 19 total touchdown passes on the season, but the Thundering Herd quarterback will need to cut down on the interceptions as he already has six.
Running back Devon Johnson also contributed in a big way to the Marshall offense by rushing for 117 yards on nine carries and adding 79 receiving yards and two touchdowns on three catches.
Meanwhile, Florida Atlantic is seeking to even their record after a 45-38 victory against Western Kentucky. Quarterback Jaquez Johnson had a fantastic performance as he had five total touchdowns, and he threw for 325 yards on 23-of-34 passing while adding 95 rushing yards.
Running back Greg Howell made his collegiate debut and did not disappoint as he rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries.
The Thundering Herd have dominated both sides of the ball as they rank in the top 10 in the nation in both offense and defense. Johnson is sure to be a challenge for Marshall though since he is a dual threat.
Prediction: Marshall 35, Florida Atlantic 21
