Stanford beats Washington State – Stanford defeats Washington State, 34-17
Washington State is looking to get back on track after losing, 34-17, to Stanford. The Cardinal defense continued to shine as they held quarterback Connor Halliday to 292 yards on 65 pass attempts.
The Cougars had a bye week to figure things out, and they will look to recover in a deep Pac-12 and improve to 3-5 as they face No. 15 Arizona, who has put themselves on the map since upsetting Oregon. Halliday leads the NCAA in passing with 3,344 passing yards and 28 touchdown passes.
Meanwhile, the Wildcats are also coming off a bye week. They experienced their first loss of the season to USC, who defeated them, 28-26 after Casey Skowron missed the game-winning field goal.
Quarterback Anu Solomon threw for 395 yards, but this came on 72 pass attempts, and he was held to just one touchdown pass while throwing an interception.
The run defense struggled as they allowed Trojans running back Javorius Allen to rush for 205 yards and three touchdowns.
The Wildcats and Cougars both have prolific offenses, but the Cougars have a much more leaky defense as they proved against Cal when they allowed 60 points.
Prediction: Arizona 42, Washington State 24
