Winger claims he spurned Spanish giants’ advances.
Bayern Munich midfield player Franck Ribery has claimed that he has rejected the chance to join both Barcelona and Real Madrid in recent years, according to Spanish source MundoDeportivo.
The France international, who signed for the Bundsliga giants from Ligue 1 side Marseille for 30 million euros in June 2007, states that he has been approached on several occasions over the last few years by both the La Liga duo, only to reject their advances, a decision that the 30-year-old says he does not regret one little bit.
And, in the intervening six-year period, the little playmaker has been a huge success in Germany, playing 229 games for the club, scoring 77 goals while also contributing 114 assists to the team cause.
Ribery is on the verge of completing an historic treble with Bayern this season, after the Bavarians thrashed Barcelona 7-0 over two legs in the Champions League semi-final to set up an all German final at Wembley with Borussia Dortmund.
Jupp Heynckes side have already won the Bundesliga and are in the German cup final.
