Chelsea have made only one player available for free transfer this summer – Champions League hero Didier Drogba – while retaining the services of six Stamford Bridge scholars.
Drogba, who scored a last-minute equaliser and then the winning penalty as the Blues won their first European Cup against Bayern Munich in 2012, announced last month that he would be leaving the club for a second time.

But he is the single name on their list for release as Jose Mourinho signals his intention to utilise the talent within Chelsea’s hugely successful youth teams over the next few seasons.
Not since John Terry has a player come through the Premier League champions’ academy and made an impact on the first team.
Hubert Adamczyk, Jefri Bolkiah, Jay Dasilva, Miro Muheim, Fikayo Tomori and Charlie Wakefield may get the opportunity to follow in their captain’s footsteps after all being offered new contracts.
