Ezequiel Lavezzi (Paris Saint-Germain)
While much of the post-match talk was about Javier Pastore’s late wonder strike for Paris Saint-Germain, it was Ezequiel Lavezzi who had made the difference beforehand for the Ligue 1 champions against Chelsea.
The Argentine attacker scored the opener for PSG after just three minutes, taking down a poor headed clearance from John Terry on his chest, and striking a powerful shot into the roof of the net on the turn.
It was exemplary technique, and Lavezzi once again proved crucial in putting his team ahead. It was his fantastic free kick delivery from wide on the left that caused David Luiz to deflect into his own net.
Paris Saint-Germain will head to Stamford Bridge with a 3-1 lead, and arguably favourites to progress, and much of that will be down to the contributions of Ezequiel Lavezzi.
