Which of the aces from Europe make it into our starting XI?
The first week of the Champions League has now been and gone and unlike the Premier League there was goals galore to enjoy.

GK – Johan Wiland, FC Copenhagen: The goalkeeper essentially earned the Danes a vital point with Juventus all on the Swede’s own as they drew 1-1. A superb display.
RB – Atsuto Uchida, Schalke 04: The right-back worked tirelessly up and down the flank all night to ensure a clean-sheet for the Germans and also scored a very fortunate goal.
LB – David Alaba, Bayern Munich: After helping Bayern to lifting the trophy last term the young Austrian is going from strength to strength and contributed in a 3-0 win over CSKA Moscow with a goal and assist.
CB – Miranda, Atletico Madrid: Was solid at the back all evening and kept Zenit St Petersburg’s Hulk at bay, whilst also opening the scoring in a 3-1 win.
CB – Cristian Zapata, AC Milan: The centre-back was a rock at the back and was the main reason Celtic were kept quiet during a 2-0 victory, as well as providing the shot that Emilio Izaguirre turned into his own net.
CM – Aaron Ramsey, Arsenal: Ramsey has emerged as a real talent this season and has come out of the shadow of Jack Wilshere. Scored in the Gunners’ 1-2 away victory at Marseille.
CM – Thiago Motta, Paris Saint-Germain: Pulled the strings in midfield and got on the score-sheet twice as PSG ran out comfortable 1-4 winners against Olympiakos.
CAM – Kevin-Prince Boateng, Schalke 04: The former AC Milan star loves playing in the Champions League and opened the Ghanian’s European account at Schalke with a well taken finish.
RF – Wayne Rooney, Manchester United: After a summer of speculation the England international came back to the Champions League with a bang, scoring twice in a 4-2 win.
LF – Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid: Last season’s top-scorer in this competition has got off to a great start once again as Ronaldo scored a hat-trick as Madrid sank Galatasaray 1-6.
ST – Lionel Messi, Barcelona: Anything you can do I can do better appears to Messi’s attitude to the rivalry with Ronaldo, as the Argentine also bagged a hat-trick against a woeful Ajax side.
