Cesc Fabregas – 7/10
Was due to start in the number 10 role, but he was moved into central midfielder just before kick off when Ramires fell ill. Fabregas looked very comfortable in a deeper position. His passing was sublime. He moved further forward at half time and was less impressive.
Nemanja Matic – 7.5/10
Efficiently brilliant throughout/
Eden Hazard – 7/10
Didn’t get at the Palace defenders as much as he would have liked, but won the crucial penalty with a nice bit of skill, before converting it, albeit at the second attempt.
