Comfortable and competent on the ball in what was his first Premier League start so much that he even looked better than his veteran captain and centre back partner John Terry.

Not the skipper’s best game by far but was still dominant in the air. However looked suspect on the ground and both Cabella and Sissoko gave him the run around.
