How the Argentine could improve things at White Hart Lane.
After sacking both Andre Villas-Boas and Tim Sherwood in 2013/14, Tottenham Hotspur appointed Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager on Tuesday.
The former Southampton boss will be expected to get Spurs to the Champions League by chairman Daniel Levy, or face going the same way as AVB and Sherwood.
This will be a tough task for Pochettino considering the quality of the teams around Tottenham and the squad will certainly need to be strengthened before the new campaign starts.
So here are five players the Argentine should sign to help them back to the top tier of European football.
Daley Blind – Ajax
Having impressed whilst on-loan with Sunderland in 2012/13, Danny Rose returned to White Hart Lane last summer with the expectations he would slot in at left-back.
Unfortunately for the north Londoners a mixture of fitness issues and a drop in form meant that Rose was often poor in the position and the only other cover was Kyle Naughton and Zeki Fryers.
The former is likely to be sold and the latter needs support, which would be provided by Netherlands international Blind – who also has vital Champions League experience.
