The central midfielder helped Chile to its first-ever Copa America triumph at the weekend and has become one of the most highly sought-after talents in South American football.
According to Metro, Chelsea have agreed to sign the 26-year-old who is valued by his club at £16.1m.
Arsenal are reportedly also keen on Aranguiz and Ligue 1 giants Marseille have also made contact with Internacional in regards to the player’s availability.
The report suggests Marseille were told Aranguiz had already agreed to join Chelsea, meaning he would become the club’s first major signing of the summer.
Aranguiz, who has spent his whole career in South America, has 36 caps for Chile and has scored six goals.
The former Universidad de Chile star has three years remaining on his deal with Internacional and Chelsea will surely have to pay a premium for the player.
In other Chelsea transfer news, Daily Express reports Chelsea attacker Loic Remy is set to leave the club to join Turkish giants Beskitas on loan.
Remy is understood to be frustrated at Stamford Bridge due to his lack of first team action last term, and he is set to drop even further down the pecking order with Radamel Falcao set to join the club on a loan deal.
Besiktas see the French international as the perfect replacement for Demba Ba who joined Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua on a lucrative deal.
It is believed Remy could join Beskitas on a one-year loan deal with an option to stay at the club permanently.
