Arsenal and Chelsea each watching the situation of Bayern Munich attacking midfielder after he stated his unhappiness at Allianz Arena.
Chelsea and Arsenal are considering bids to sign Bayern Munich playmaker Mario Goetze.
The Germany international is unhappy with his lack of playing time for Pep Guardiola’s side, and although he didn’t make many complaints when Bayern were winning every game, given the club’s recent form, Goetze is disappointed at not being granted a chance to help turn things around.
“Of course I’m not happy,” Goetze is quoted as telling the Metro.
“I want to win back the trust of the coach to play more.”
Arsenal have long been linked with the signing of Goetze, but it is Chelsea that are leading the chase, and could make a move at the end of the season.
The Gunners and Napoli are watching Goetze’s situation carefully though, and could well attempt to sign the 21 year-old should he come onto the market.
Goetze cost £30m last summer, and would be likely to command a similar fee should he move again.
