Ozil, Willian and Lamela will add flair and creativity to the Premier League…
The transfer window is finally shut!
Here’s our Premier League team of the transfer window:
Liverpool’s £9m goalkeeper signing Simon Mignolet starts in goal. The Belgian stopper has started the season brilliantly, and is yet to concede a Premier League goal for the Reds.
Stoke City did well to snap up Dutch international Erik Pieters at left-back for only £3.5m, and Cardiff shelled out £8m for young England international defender Steven Caulker slots in at right-back. (We know he’s really a centre-half, but he can do a job at fullback too.) In the central defensive spots, Liverpool’s massive £18m signing, Mamadou Sakho starts alongside Tottenham’s promising young centre-back Vlad Chiriches.
From the midfield upwards, this team starts to look pretty exciting!
Brazilian big-money duo Paulinho and Fernandinho start in the deep-lying spots, and will provide a solid base for the wonderful attacking talent infront of them. Paulinho joined Spurs for £17m following a brilliant Confederations Cup tournament, and Fernandinho arrived at Manchester City for a whopping £30m early on in the summer. Both are physically capable, but have wonderful technically ability too.
Erik Lamela, Willian and Mesut Ozil cost a combined total of over £100m, and are all set to take the Premier League by storm this year. Ozil cost Arsenal £42,m and becomes the msot expensive import into England from Europe ever.
Up top, Alvaro Negredo beats off competition from compatriot Roberto Soldado and fellow City signing Stevan Jovetic. Negredo is a brilliant poacher, and has already scored two for the Premier League title hopefuls.
Combined, this team cost a ridiculous £219m!
