CM: Nemanja Matic (Chelsea)
Until a recent dip in form, which has hit several of Mourinho’s men, Matic was one of the star turns in the team. The side is blessed with flair players but Matic provides a solid foil to great effect.
He is the kind of midfielder United have been crying out for.
CM: Michael Carrick (Man United)
England veteran Carrick has revelled in van Gaal’s system, and he was arguably the best player on the pitch again during the 4-2 win against City before injury cut short his fun.
He is a good choice alongside Matic, and has this season out-performed the likes of Ramires and John Obi Mikel.
AM: Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea)
Clever midfield man Fabregas started the season on fire, and although his levels have dropped in 2015 he remains a genuine threat who you always expect to produce a vital assist or goal – as he did with the winners against Queens Park Rangers last time out.
An honourable mention for the rejuvenated Marouane Fellaini at United, but Fabregas gets the green light this time.
