Chelsea and Man United have missed out on one of their reported targets after Brazilian starlet Gerson confirmed his move to Roma.
The Fluminense star is in Italy to make the move official, although he will return to his homeland on loan until January.

It comes after both Chelsea and United had been linked with making a move for the talented youngster, but he has opted for the Italian capital instead, signing a five-year deal after the clubs agreed on a €15m transfer fee, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
However, he has caused early controversy after he posed with a N0.10 jersey, which is of course the number worn by club legend Francesco Totti.
Gerson has since insisted that he didn’t mean anything by it and certainly meant no disrespect to the club captain after he received a slight backlash over the image.
Nevertheless, he will hope to return to Brazil and continue to prove why he deserved his move to Europe in the first place, and then show Roma why they were right to invest their money and faith in him.
In contrast, if their interest was true, then it will come as a blow for Jose Mourinho and Louis Van Gaal having missed out on a star for the future.
