Borussia Dortmund striker is set to join Bayern Munich, confirms agent.
Bayern Munich have beaten Manchester United and Chelsea to the signing of Robert Lewandowski, according to the agent of the Polish striker.
The Borussia Dortmund star has been linked with moves to Europe’s top clubs after a stunning season, in which he has scored 34 goals in all competitions, including four in the Champions League semi-final first leg against Real Madrid.
Dortmund have already lost Mario Goetze to their Bundesliga rivals in a £31m deal and Lewandowski now looks set to follow.
“Robert will join Bayern this summer,” agent Cezary Kucharski is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
“There is no point in pretending that he will not move to Bayern. Robert wants to leave and that is what will happen.
“It is a matter of time. It could be a done deal within a week or within two to three weeks. We are waiting for a signal from the club. We are working on this deal.
“Robert needs a new challenge. He needs other people around him, a new coach and new motivation. For us it is clear, but we have not signed anything.”
Lewandowki remained tight-lipped about his plans following Dortmund’s 2-1 defeat to Bayern in Saturday’s Champions League final but after the match Bayern boss Jupp Heynckes hinted that the Poland international was set to move to the Allianz Arena this summer.
Manchester United have been linked with the 24-year-old as a replacement for the unsettled Wayne Rooney, while Chelsea were also thought to be plotting a move for the poacher.
