New Valencia owner sets sights on Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge players for summer transfer window.
Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel is among the midfield targets for new Valencia owner Peter Lim this summer, according to Fichajes.net.
The Nigerian international has spent the vast majority of his career at Stamford Bridge, making over 300 appearances for the club and winning a number of major honours, including the 2012 Champions League, during his time with the Blues.
However, Mikel now looks increasingly like becoming a fringe player at the club with the arrival of big-money signing Nemanja Matic back in January, as well as the possibility of Jose Mourinho making another major addition in that department with the pursuit of Barcelona star Cesc Fabregas.
The 27-year-old was reportedly close to leaving Chelsea last summer, but could now finally make his exit as Valencia step up their interest, with the club’s wealthy new owner keen to bring in some big names.
Out-of-favour Manchester United winger Nani is also mentioned as being among the potential midfield signings for the Spanish side, and the Portuguese international is another player likely to be available in this transfer window.
Elsewhere, in-demand Porto striker Jackson Martinez is also a high-profile target for Valencia, who have reportedly held positive talks with the prolific Colombian.
