Uruguay forward eyes move to Spain instead next season.
Chelsea and Manchester City target Edinson Cavani says that he wants to play in La Liga for either Real Madrid or FC Barcelona next season, reports the Daily Mirror.
The coveted Napoli front man is currently one of the most sought-after attackers plying their trade on the Continent after registering yet another prolific campaign in front of goal for his high-flying Serie A club.
The Uruguay international managed to hit the back of the net on 29 occasions in only 34 league contests for the Italians, while overall Cavani netted an equally impressive 38 goals in just 43 matches for Napoli, form in front of goal that helped propel the Southern Italians to a second-place finish in the league.
However, the 26-year-old has now hinted that rather than a big-money move to the Premier League when the transfer window reopens for business on July 1, he would instead prefer to join one of Spain’s ‘Big Two’ clubs.
“As a child, I dreamed of playing for Real Madrid or Barcelona, but now I am proud to be at Napoli,” said Cavani.
“On my future, I cannot say anything, because I still do not know anything.
“I do not get distracted at all when I hear about offers and interest from other teams, I am used to it now.
“Honestly, I still have a contract and I just think about Napoli.”
