Colombian not thinking about Vicente Calderon exit.
Manchester City and Chelsea target Radamel Falcao believes that staying at Atletico Madrid is his ‘best option’.
The prolific Colombian has been on stunning form for Atletico this term, scoring 20 goals in just 21 league appearances.
The 27-year-old is reportedly a summer target for Premier League duo City and Chelsea, as well as La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.
But Falcao has insisted that he is happy at the Vicente Calderon and hopes his goals can propel Atletico into the European football elite.
“I have a contract with Atletico for three more years, therefore, that’s the best option,” he told Mundo Deportivo.
“As a group we have the clear goal of qualifying for the Champions League. If we maintain the same level that we have showed, we will achieve our objectives.
“We are not thinking about either (Real) Madrid or Barcelona, we are focusing on what we can give and on our objectives.”
The Colombia international arrived in the Spanish capital from Porto in 2011 and has helped his side to second in La Liga this term, ahead of city rivals Real but 12 points behind Tito Vilanova’s runaway leaders Barcelona.
The striker added: “I have come to one of the biggest clubs in Spain, in a very important league that is more well-known on the world stage than any of my previous clubs.
“It has allowed me to grow as a footballer, to become known in other parts of the world. It has been a very positive step.”
