Tottenham are also in the hunt for Zagreb’s Muric.
Dinamo Zagreb’s latest wonderkid being eyed up by Premier League clubs is Robert Muric, who Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are all interested in signing, according to the Daily Express.
The 17-year-old winger has been attracting the attention of much of Europe’s elite, especially as the Croatian’s current contract expires in the summer.
Ajax were thought to be leading the chase for Muric, but the Dutch champions have admitted that no deal has been agreed with the teenager as yet.
“Muric is wanted by many clubs – everybody wants him,” their technical director Marc Overmars was quoted by Sky Sports.
“He really is a great talent and will be a free agent in the summer. But he is not yet ours.”
This has sparked interest from England as it is already known that Muric will not be staying at Dinamo beyond the summer after rejecting a new deal with the club.
The Croatia under-17 international is the latest in a long list of talented youngsters emerging at Zagreb in recent times, with another 17-year-old in Alen Halilovic having also been strongly linked with a move to the English top tier.
The Croatian champions also sold another pair of starlets to Serie A in 2013, with Tin Jedvaj moving to AS Roma in a £4.3m transfer and Mateo Kovacic heading to Inter Milan in a £9.6m switch.
Jose Mourinho has already signed one player from the league recently with the purchase of Mario Pasalic from Hajduk Split, whilst Spurs had great success when bringing in Luka Modric from Dinamo in 2008.
