QPR boss Harry Redknapp, who has successfully gained promotion to the Premier League with the Londoners, has set his sights on signing up free-agents Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand in the summer in a bid to bolster his side’s survival chances in the Premier League, reports the Daily Mirror.
Redknapp, who is also Lampard’s uncle, is known to be a big fan of the Chelsea star. He had long been trying to snap up the 35-year old, and this summer could be his chance as the England international looks set to leave Stamford Bridge.
Manchester United’s veteran defender Rio Ferdinand has also confirmed that he will leave the Red Devils this summer, but the 35-year old wants to stay in England, and a chance to play under Redknapp once again could appeal to him.
While both Lampard and Ferdinand could give the newly promoted side some much needed experience upon their re-admission into the Premier League, one will have to wait and see if they still have the legs to be regulars at QPR and spearhead their campaign next season.
