Midfield
In a diamond in the middle of the park, Fulham veteran Giorgios Karagounis sits in defensive midfield as although the Cottagers lost to Leicester City, the Greek was a threat throughout and netted a great free-kick.
On the flanks are Stoke City’s Marko Arnautovic, who carried on the winger’s goal-scoring prowess from the weekend with another well taken effort against Birmingham City.
The ever-improving youngster Adnan Januzaj gets the other spot on the flank with another impressive display for United.
Finally Juan Mata completes the midfield quartet, which is a shame considering the Spaniard is being reduced to having to excel on cup nights, although it was against Arsenal.
Attack
There were several candidates for the two spots up front, with Javier Hernandez, Spurs’ Harry Kane and Chris Wood of Leicester all just missing out.
In the end the places have gone to two forwards who bagged braces in losing matches, as Hugo Rodallega looked sharp all match for Fulham, whilst Peter Lovenkrands made the most of a 10 minute cameo to bag two goals against Stoke and take the game to extra-time.
