The duo have long been linked with the Saints starlet, who has been impressing once again in the Premier League this season – but the England international’s price just keeps rising.
It’s thought however that Sandro could be signed for £15m and would therefore prove to be a much more cost effective purchase than Shaw.
Both the Blues and United are looking for recruitment on the left side of defence due to the impending departure of their respective veterans.
At Stamford Bridge Ashley Cole has lost his place in the starting XI to usual right-back Cesar Azpilicueta and isn’t expected to be given a new deal when the 33-year-old’s current contract expires in the summer.
It’s a similar story with the Red Devils, with Patrice Evra also expected to leave at the end of the campaign and therefore they are both on the hunt for left-backs.
Sandro has been impressing at Porto since a 2011 transfer from Santos in the 23-year-old’s native Brazil and the defender has won two Primeira Liga titles during his time in Portugal.
The South American has played 86 times for the Portuguese champions to date and importantly has Champions League and international experience – with five caps for the Samba Boys currently.
