Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has opened the door to a prospective transfer, with Chelsea and Manchester United the English clubs most strongly linked with signing him.
The Germany international star gave a recent interview with Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, and refused to commit to the Bavarian club.
“I have a contract until 2015, but in football you never know,” stated Schweinsteiger in response to Gazzetta probing about his future.
It is clear where he would be needed at either Stamford Bridge or Old Trafford, with supplementation required by both teams.
Andre Villas Boas needs a deep-lying player able to break up play after the injury to Michael Essien, while Sir Alex Ferguson is looking to replace the retired Paul Scholes with a world class player.
Will Bastian Schweinsteiger play in the Premier League this coming season?
