Southampton’s Shaw ready to join Real Madrid.
Despite it seeming almost certain Southampton starlet Luke Shaw would join either Chelsea or Manchester United in the summer, Real Madrid have now entered the mix, reports the Mirror.
Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are also outside bets to sign the 18-year-old, but with the other three financial powerhouses showing interest they stand very little chance.
Both United and the Blues are looking to recruit at left-back at the end of the season as their current veterans in the position are both expected to leave their respective clubs.
At Old Trafford Patrice Evra’s contract expires in the summer and the Frenchman is likely to follow club captain Nemanja Vidic out of the door as manager David Moyes begins his overhaul of an under-performing United squad.
It’s a similar story in west London, where due to a combination of a fall in form and fitness Ashley Cole has been replaced in the starting XI by usual right-back Cesar Azpilicueta and is also not expected to be given a new deal.

However, Madrid are also looking to sign a new left-back and whilst they have kept tabs on Alberto Moreno at Sevilla, Shaw fits the bill for the club.
They have a strong history of buying from the Premier League and already have one Saints product at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in the shape of world record signing Gareth Bale.
Shaw has been impressing at St Mary’s since breaking into the first team in 2012 and has already played 60 times for Mauricio Pochettino’s side and is hotly tipped to be in the 23-man England squad to travel to the 2014 World Cup.
