Roma have told any interested parties what it will cost to sign Benatia.
AS Roma have named their price for contract rebel Mehdi Benatia and if Chelsea or Manchester United want the defender it will cost them £28.5m, reports Gazzetto Dello Sport.
The Morocco international has only been with the club from the Italian capital for one season, following an £11m transfer from Udinese.
However, the 27-year-old has been so impressive in a campaign where Roma finished second in Serie A and therefore returned to the Champions League, that many top sides are in pursuit of the centre-back.
Benatia feels he deserves an improved salary that reflects his importance to the club, but i Giallorossi are not prepared to give into his demands with four years left on his current deal.
This has caused a standoff between the team and the player and several sides are hoping to capitalise on the African’s frustration at the Stadio Olimpico.
Premier League champions Manchester City are said to have submitted an £18m offer for Benatia – which has been rejected – whilst their rivals United and the Blues are also keeping tabs.
The Red Devils in particular are desperate to sign new talent in central defence due to the impending departure of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic.
