Luke Shaw going nowhere says Pochettino.
Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino says Chelsea and Tottenham target Luke Shaw will not be leaving St. Mary’s in January.
Check out the 10 worst Chelsea flops of the Premier League era.
The 18-year-old defender has been linked with moves to the London duo, with both on the hunt for a new left back in the New Year.
Chelsea are beginning the search for a long-term replacement for Ashley Cole, 33, who claimed yesterday he would like to see Shaw, who has admitted he is a Blues fan, move to Stamford Bridge.
Spurs, meanwhile, have just one trusted, senior left back in Danny Rose and may decide to recall Benoit Assou-Ekotto from his loan spell at QPR in January, if they cannot prise Shaw from the South Coast.
Despite the amount of interest in the England under-21 star, Pochettino is adamant that Shaw is going nowhere when the transfer window reopens next month.
“It is a very clear situation,” the Argentine is quoted as saying by The Guardian.
“The player wants to stay, the club is not willing to sell.”
