Eliaquim Mangala unlikely to make Stamford Bridge switch this summer.
Chelsea have been priced out a move for Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala, according to Portuguese newspaper Record.
New Blues boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen to raid his former club for the 22-year-old France international but the Special One is unwilling to meet the centre-half’s staggering €50m (£42.2m) price-tag.
Porto’s chairman Pinto De Costa has stressed that negotiations with the Blues have not progressed and says talks will only take place if a club is willing to meet the player’s hefty buy-out clause.
Mourinho was reportedly interested in landing Mangala during his spell in charge of Real Madrid but the Les Bleus star says he is calm about his future.
“I not am preoccupied about my future. There have been many rumours in the papers in the last few days, but I am very calm,” Mangala told Sky Sports last week.
Porto have already sold Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez to mega-rich AS Monaco this summer and the Primera Liga champions are bracing themselves for bids for Christian Atsu and Jackson Martinez, with Tottenham thought to be tracking the duo.
