The Premier League champions are considering selling Oscar this summer, with the Brazilian a target for Italian giants Juventus.
In turn, if they do decide to let him leave, they will need to replace him in Jose Mourinho’s squad and it is reported that Isco had been identified as the perfect candidate.
According to the Mirror, Los Blancos have made it clear to both Chelsea and Juve that they will not be selling their Spanish playmaker and so they will continue to reject their advances.
The 23-year-old joined the club from Malaga for £23m two years ago, and although he hasn’t lived up to his lofty expectations, he has continued to play a key role when asked to play in various positions.
Nevertheless, new boss Rafa Benitez sees him as an important part of his squad next season, and so Chelsea may well be left disappointed as they consider whether or not to keep their faith in Oscar.
It is reported that Mourinho and Juve are still some distance apart with regards to the price-tag, and so it suggests that there might not be much movement this summer until one of the respective parties breaks their resistance.
