Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has blocked striker Victor Moses from making a permanent move to Premier League rivals Stoke City, according to reports.
The 24-year-old enjoyed a successful loan stint with the Potters last season, scoring three goals in 19 appearances as Stoke finished in a respectable ninth place on the Premier League table.
Stoke boss Mark Hughes was keen to bring the Nigerian international back to the club on a permanent deal, however the former City boss says Chelsea are now keen to keep hold of the player.
“I was interested in bringing Victor back because he came to us last year and did exceptionally well,” Hughes is quoted as saying by The Sun.
“He showed enough that it made Chelsea aware of the talent they have and what Victor has to offer.
“It could be he now plays a big part at Chelsea.”
Despite his strong form with the Potters, Moses faces a difficult task in breaking into Chelsea’s first-team squad.
Diego Costa and Loic Remy remain at Stamford Bridge, while the club has signed Radamel Falcao on a loan deal.
The Blues are also understood to be close to signing Barcelona winger Pedro on a £22m deal.
