Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has reacted to Branislav Ivanovic‘s poor start to the season by already searching for a replacement for the veteran defender, according to reports.
The Serbian has struggled this season and was dropped for his side’s Champions League clash with Maccabi Tel-Aviv on Wednesday night.
According to the Daily Mail, Mourinho has ordered his scouts to come up with a list of suitable replacements for the right-back.
Ivanovic has been one of Chelsea’s most consistent performers in recent years, but his form has taken a turn for the worst with the Blues enduring a poor start to their title defence.
Chelsea have won just one of its opening five matches in the Premier League and have conceded a staggering 12 goals.
The Blues are light in the right-back position, with Mourinho using first choice left-back Cesar Azpilicueta in the position in the 4-0 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv.
