Jose Mourinho has dismissed Arsene Wenger’s claim that it’s easy to defend by mocking Arsenal’s 3-1 Champions League defeat to Ligue 1 minnows Monaco earlier this year.

Arsene Wenger says he has no regrets about missing out on Eden Hazard signing
Wenger appeared to take a little dig at the Blues boss following Arsenal’s FA Cup win over Reading last week saying, “One nil! The usual” when told of Chelsea’s narrow Premier League win over Man United.
And ahead of a table-topping clash with Mourinho this weekend, the Frenchman said on Thursday in another apparent barbed criticism of Chelsea’s playing style; “It’s easy to defend” something which the Portuguese coach didn’t take too kindly.
Mourinho had initially refused to talk about his relationship with Wenger but when told of the Arsenal manager’s comments, The Daily Telegraph report that he said: “It’s not easy, not easy.If it was easy, you wouldn’t lose 3-1 at home to Monaco. If he defends well he draws 0-0 against Monaco and wins in Monte Carlo. It’s not easy to defend.”
Mourinho also claimed that Chelsea’s success this season is down to how they have adapted when faced with key injuries to their squad as well as suspensions and also figured this as a reason for their more defensive minded playing style.
“We are the best team since day one, and we want to be the best team until the last day,” he said.
“I just want to be champions. It matters what I feel, not what people feel, think or say. We are top of the league since day one. We are the second team in terms of goals scored. We are the second best team for goals conceded. The team with fewest defeats.
“We have some of the best goals of the season, spectacular team goals. We are having everything in our season. So, if we manage to win the Premier League, we did everything right. If we can be champions with people without a history of winning lots of titles, young people and new people in the club, that would be a great achievement.”
