Mourinho feels the Spaniard was play-acting in an attempt to win the foul, and used the opportunity to complain about his side’s treatment at the hands of referees all season.
The Portuguese coach has long talked about a ‘campaign’ against Chelsea this term, despite his side looking comfortable at the top of the Premier League and more than likely to pick up the trophy without too much trouble at the end of the season.
When asked about the dive after the game, Mourinho said he was glad one of his players was not involved or the reaction would be much worse, suggesting he feels United get special treatment from the press over incidents such as this one.
He said: “I’m happy it’s not a Chelsea player because it would be on Sky as someone’s crimes and cheating.”
