After Juventus declared interest in Chelsea’s young midfielder Oscar, Jose Mourinho appears ready to sell his £25 million stud to the Serie A club at a discount.
According to a report from Italy’s Tuttosport, the Serie A Champions are willing to offer €25 million (~£18m) for Oscar – though the asking price over at Stamford Bridge is believed to be around €30 million (~£21m). Oscar, who usually represents Brazil’s national team, has skipped the Copa America due to an injury, but Soccerlens.com reported that he should be fine to start the 2015-16 season.
Though Oscar is considered by many to be one of Jose Mourinho’s favorite players, his play wavered a bit in the second half of the season, failing to score a single goal since January.
Oscar signed with Chelsea back in 2012 when he was just 20 years old – just months after winning a silver medal for Brazil in London’s hosting of the Olympic Games – for a £25 million contract. He impressed the Blues almost immediately, scoring 4 league goals in 34 appearances and 12 goals overall. The following season he doubled his league total with 8 goals in 33 appearances. This past season Oscar recorded 6 goals.
