Chelsea had three bids rejected by the Toffees, and despite the player himself handing in a transfer request, it doesn’t appear as though they will land their man ahead of the deadline.
Meanwhile, according to the Daily Mail, PSG have dismissed their enquiry for Marquinhos, with the Ligue 1 club’s president Nasser Al Khelaifi telling the Premier League champions ‘not to bother’ making a bid for the Brazilian.
Despite Thiago Silva and David Luiz providing stern competition for the former Roma star, Marquinhos is still seen as a crucial part of the squad by the French champions and they unsurprisingly don’t want to lose him.
In turn, it is unclear where Mourinho will turn to next with just two days remaining before the transfer window closes, as any deal for Stones looks unlikely.
