Barca want Chelsea’s £40m-rated David Luiz.
Chelsea are braced for a last-ditch attempt from Barcelona to sign David Luiz, according to the Daily Mirror.
The £40m-rated Brazilian is top of the Catalans’ summer wish-list and their president Sandro Rosell is understood to have already made enquiries about the 26-year-old.
Reports in the British media claimed new Chelsea head-coach Jose Mourinho does not rate Luiz but the Portuguese has publicly insisted the centre-half is part of his plans and is not for sale.
But Barca are long term admirers of the former Benfica star, and had a bid knocked back for Luiz last summer.
The La Liga giants believe Chelsea may be tempted by a massive offer but are unwilling to bid more than £30m.
Barca are hopeful new signing Neymar can help persuade his compatriot and Selecao teammate to swap Stamford Bridge for the Nou Camp but Luiz signed a long-term deal at Chelsea last summer, and has been assured by Mourinho that he has a promising future at the club.
