The report suggests that Real saw a deadline day £25m raid on Stamford Bridge for Ramires rejected out of hand, with Carlo Ancelotti’s side having panicked following their 4-2 La Liga defeat at the hands of Real Sociedad.
With more time to prepare a bid, however, the La Liga giants are expected to return for Ramires in the January transfer window, as Ancelotti looks to add more bite to a midfield that has lost experienced campaigner Xabi Alonso to Bayern Munich.
Chelsea may also be more prone to selling as the central midfield partnership between Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas continues to flourish, potentially depriving Ramires of opportunities.
