Luka Modric reportedly set to move on from the Bernabeu.
Real Madrid playmaker Luka Modric could be primed for a surprise return to the Premier League three years after he left Tottenham Hotspur, with the Daily Star reporting that Manchester United and Chelsea are both willing to pay £48 million to land the signing of the Croatian international.

The 29-year-old has proven to be a fine signing for Real since he was brought to the Bernabeu by current Blues boss Jose Mourinho, and his partnership with Toni Kroos in the centre this season has been particularly impressive.
However, Modric’s wife is reportedly unhappy with life in the Spanish capital, which could lead to a return to England.
Despite the high transfer fee for a player heading into his thirties, Premier League sides will be well aware of the fact that Modric is a proven commodity in the English game and could well see such a big fee as representing a sensible, risk free investment.
