According to the Daily Mirror, Neymar had to stop manager Luis Enrique and Messi coming to blows after a training-ground bust-up last week, and the Barca coach then had to persuaded by senior players not to discipline the four-time Ballon D’Or winner when he missed training.
Some reports are even claiming that Barcelona are “descending into chaos” after coach Luis Enrique today refused to deny a bitter fallout with the player.
Both Chelsea and Paris Saint Germain have been linked with Messi in last week, with some reports suggesting that the player has a £195.8m buyout clause. The news comes as the latest nail in Barcelona’s rapidly deepening metaphorical coffin.
In recent days, sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta and Carles Puyol both departed the club after a transfer ban was upheld, and now the club’s star player has suggested for the first time – with actions rather than words – that he could follow them.
