Barcelona star Pedro is heading closer to an exit from the Camp Nou after admitting he had received offers from other clubs, with Chelsea understood to be in pole position to land the Spaniard’s signature.
According to The Sun, Pedro will hold talks with Barcelona manager Luis Enrique this week before deciding whether to join the Premier League champions.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for the 27-year-old, and the player has publicly admitted that the Catalan club had reduced his release clause.
“It’s true, we agreed to reduce the value of the buyout clause and it’s true there are offers,” Pedro is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
“I don’t want to think about the future, I want to rest, remain calm, start pre-season on Wednesday with the squad and we will see what happens after that.”
Pedro is believed to be highly-rated by Barcelona, however, the Spanish international was used mostly as a substitute last year due to the sublime form of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez.
According to Sky Sports’ report, Pedro will become available at £21m, as per his buyout clause.
