Blues to send out another young midfield player.
Chelsea have confirmed that young midfield star Oriol Romeu will head out on loan again this season, but this time to German side Stuttgart, according to the Metro.
The 22-year-old spent the previous term on loan with Spanish side Valencia, where he made just 18 appearances across the entirety of the campaign.
And Blues boss Jose Mourinho is looking for him to continue his development elsewhere as his plans for the Spaniard appear to be long term.
Romeu only put pen-to-paper on a new three-year deal with the west London outfit, leading Chelsea fans to believe he would form part of Mourinho’s plans for the coming campaign, possibly at the expense of John Obi Mikel.
A statement on the Chelsea website said: “Oriol Romeu has today [Monday] joined Stuttgart on a season-long loan.
“The midfielder, 22, who recently signed a three-year contract at Stamford Bridge, heads to the German top flight.”
Romeu joined Chelsea from Barcelona back in 2011 and has gone on to make 33 appearances for the club before being sent to Valencia.
