Koke was one of the pillars on which Diego Simeone built his La Liga winning Atletico side last season, and the Vicente Calderon youth team product is rightly regarded as one of the best midfielders in Europe following his emergence over recent seasons.
This has, unsurprisingly, brought some of Europe’s biggest clubs to Koke’s door, with Barcelona and Chelsea both very keen on securing a player who could become an integral part of their sides for the next decade – although they are likely to have to meet his £48 million release clause if they are to earn the privilege.
