Chelsea defender Alex is reportedly set to be included in a part-exchange deal for Juventus ace Milos Krasic.
Reports in Italy claim that Blues’ boss Andre Villas-Boas is an admirer of the Serbian international and is prepared to negotiate a potential deal which includes the Brazilian defender.
Juventus have recently been linked with midfielder Florent Malouda, with Tuttosport reporting that the Premier League outfit are prepared to offload the Frenchman for as little as €6 million (£5.3 million) in order to raise the necessary funds for Porto defender Alvaro Pereira.
With the arrival of Juan Mata earlier this week, it is claimed that should Villas-Boas succeed in signing Krasic, Chelsea will end their interest in long-term target Luka Modric, with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy determined to keep hold of the Croatian.
Modric had been on Chelsea’s radar since the start of the summer, and having failed to feature in any games this season so far, it was reported that a deal might be close. However, it now appears that the Portuguese tactician has set his sights elsewhere with Spurs’ boss Harry Redknapp confirming his belief Modric will remain at White Hart Lane.
