Blues may have deal in place by next week.
Chelsea appear to be inching ever nearer to completing a big-money move to sign exciting young Bayer Leverkusen midfield player Andre Schurrle for next season, says the Independent.
Rumous in both the British and German press of late have suggested that a £20 million summer deal for the Germany international to sign for the UEFA Champions League holders is now nearly complete.
All of which means that fans of the West London giants can start to look forward to the prospect of the 22-year-old playing at Stamford Bridge next season.
Schurrle, who has been capped 22 times by Germany since he made his debut for the national team three years ago, scoring seven times in the process, has been one of the brightest stars in the Bundesliga since he moved to the BayArena from FSV Mainz 05 in 2011.
And, in the intervening time, the forward has made 79 appearances in all competitions for Sami Hyypia’s side and finding the back of the net on 23 occasions.
