Young full back is now expected to move to Old Trafford instead.
Chelsea are set to pull out of the running for in-demand Southampton left-back Luke Shaw, and so paving the way clear for Premier League champions Manchester United to make their own move for the player this summer, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The west London club had been thought to be the new England international’s preferred choice of destination next season, with Shaw a fan of the Blues, while his parents also live close by to the Chelsea training ground in Cobham.
However, even though the club are on the look out at present for a new left back to fill the void left by the expected departure of experienced Englishman Ashley Cole this summer, it is understood that head coach Jose Mourinho is not prepared to meet the south-coast club’s expected £30 million asking price for Shaw.
All of which means that the Red Devils are now expected to land the youngster, while the west Londoners will themselves look to promote Dutchman Patrick Van Aanholt to be Cesar Azpilicueta’s back-up at the Bridge next season.
