Chelsea target furious that Manchester United transfer fell through
The Red Devils have been linked to the 20-year-old since the January transfer window, but it now looks like the Blues are attempting to undercut them in the chase for his signature. The youngster hasn’t been a regular for his team but seems highly rated by teams in Europe.
In order to gain an advantage in the race to sign the player the Stamford Bridge outfit had their former star Deco contact the Brazilian side. The Portuguese played 57 times for the Blues between 2008 and 2010, scoring six times.
Whether his involvement actually helped entice the youngster is unknown, as Fluminense ended up giving too high an asking price to the Premier League giants.
